An amazing fact for you here that i am gobsmacked about……… Pulp Formed in 1978!!!!!! That’s not what the story is about but its the highlight of the story for me so i thought i would start with it!

The real story here is about pulp re forming for Glastonbury 2010. I didn’t really realise they split up but i quite liked pulp, well disco 2000 anyway and recently Jarvis was misinterpreted by the media as saying he wanted Pulp to play at Glastonbury 2010. He actually said that he would like to play Glastonbury 2010 and it was presumed he meant with Pulp. This got Jarvis thinking about a reunion which looks like it could be on the cards.

I would really like it to happen but in the world of entertainment things like this get banded around all day long. Lets wait, see and hope.

For the last two years there has been an outdoor area of Glastonbury called Arcadia. In 2010 this space is set to get bigger. Michael Eavis has rewarded the success of this area with an extra 15 acres of land so it can expand for the 2010 festival. Eavis was quoted as saying

"We’re giving over an extra 15 acres to Arcadia next year because the feedback we got on that area was fantastic. It doesn’t feel like 40 years. We’ve had some bad years along the way, but mostly it’s been great fun. Next year is special though and we’re working hard to make sure we get the best acts to make it the best festival yet."

In 2010 Glastonbury will be 40 years old. The first music event was held in 1970 with the headliners being a band that later became known as T.Rex. The year after David Bowie played the festival organised partly by the daughter of Winston Churchill; Arabella Churchill. Why am i telling you this? well David Bowie is till alive! he could very well be performing at the festival to celebrate the 40 years.

Michael Eavis has recently been quoted as saying the plans for the 40th anniversary year are in advanced stages, though he is keeping very tight lipped about what the plans are. One thing they have announced is that arcadia will have an extra 15 Acers of the site because of its popularity last year and the site itself will be very different this year.

There are many rumours started a long time ago on this one and David Bowie has already been mentioned. I think he would be a fitting act to play instead of a pop band or someone else that just wants the limelight. U2 and the rolling stones have also been linked to play the festival but i think it should be a celebration of the last 40 years or music that has come out of the festival.

Every year in the lead up to the line-up for Glastonbury being announced; the ‘who will play’ rumour mill goes into full swing. Every act under the sun will be associated with the festival and the older and more obscure the act the more people want it to be true.

Last year had a host of people wanting to play the festival including Take That! It has become something of a need to play ay Glastonbury since Jay-Z played. More and more artists and bands are now thinking of the publicity it will bring them instead of really wanting to add tom the Glastonbury experience.

Saying that the first major rumour of the year would be quite a good one to become reality. Ronnie Wood of the rolling stones has been supporting rumour that the Rolling Stones will be playing Glastonbury next year. At a recent awards ceremony Ronni spoke of how the band was getting along and said there would be a chance of some gigs in 2010.

Ill keep my eyes peeled!
