The first music event was held in 1970 with the headliners being a band that later became known as T.Rex. The year after David Bowie played the festival organised partly by the daughter of Winston Churchill; Arabella Churchill. Why am i telling you this? well David Bowie is till alive! he could very well be performing at the festival to celebrate the 40 years.

Michael Eavis has recently been quoted as saying the plans for the 40th anniversary year are in advanced stages, though he is keeping very tight lipped about what the plans are. One thing they have announced is that arcadia will have an extra 15 Acers of the site because of its popularity last year and the site itself will be very different this year.

There are many rumours started a long time ago on this one and David Bowie has already been mentioned. I think he would be a fitting act to play instead of a pop band or someone else that just wants the limelight. U2 and the rolling stones have also been linked to play the festival but i think it should be a celebration of the last 40 years or music that has come out of the festival.
