The Eden Sessions will this year play host to Mika on Sunday the 27th June.

The Eden Project in Cornwall every year plays host to a festival like setting, This year Jack Johnson will be playing on the first day with Mika playing on day two.

Mika has had plenty of Success on the festival circuit over the last couple of years, i have seen him myself and although he entertained i was only there because it was sunny and nothing better was on outside!

The concern i have about Mika is the same Concern i have with a few artists such as the Ting Tings, Lily Allen and something Amy Winehouse deffinately fell foul of and that is the lack of new material. Now i don’t know if Mika has new material and i hope he has but the popularity of some artists are producing some very repetitive performances.

Atomik Weekender announced a little while ago that it would be let loose on the 5th to the 7th March 2010 in the might Pontin Holiday Park, Prestatyn.

There are some usual suspects that are going to this and there are some new faces as well. I thought I would put together who will be attending the event. I really think that this will be a another complete success like it has been ever year previous.

Chris Moyles has announced that this years Radio 1 big weekender will be held at Bangor on the 22nd and 23rd May 2010.

The first act that has been announced is none other than Pixie Lott. Obviously over the coming weeks Radio 1 will be playing hidden tracks to show who will be playing at the weekender. I recon that it will be a good weekend to go but unfortunately I think I am away that weekend so I am going to miss it.

But I will have to read up on it and see how the weekend went for the masses.

This year will be the 46th Southport weekender and will be held on the 7th, 8th and 9th of May 2010. The Southport weekender is held at Pontin’s (in Southport funnily enough).

For the 2010 event which is now going annually the accommodation sold out in record time. This doest surprise me as the event has been running for a long time and has continuously put on a quality event time after time and i believe this is why it has sold out all the accommodation so fast.

Its never been one of the massive festivals / events that people always talks about but has constantly delivered, the thing i love about these types of events are that because they fly under the radar the people who go to them are usually there because they love the event and they are not ‘Festival Tourists’ which can often dampen the atmosphere of a festival.

Jay-Z has announced that he wants to perform with Lily Allen at the wireless festival. Jay has been on the same line-up as Lily before and was impressed by what he saw, Now he wants to collaborate with her at the wireless festival. Word is that he has already spoken to Lily and Jay-Z claims he has put her in a position were she cant say no!

Jay has collaborated with a lot of different artists and a collaboration with Lily would be something different due to Lily’s individual style of speaking / singing her lyrics.

The Wireless festival will run from the 2nd to the 4th June 2010 and tickets are available priced at £47 a da

10 years ago festivals were few and far between, don’t get me wrong, they did exist but it was the same few and they delivered. fast forward 210 years and there are almost 100′s of different festivals, many of them with similar lineups and most of them squeezing two days worth of money out of people, now don’t get me wrong i don’t really have a problem with lots of festivals but do we need more?

The answer seems to be yes! in Essex! There has been an announcement about an announcement that will be made regarding a new ‘Massive’ festival that has been planned for 2011 from 1st – 4th June.

The festival will hold 120,000 people and will comprise of bands, comedy, dance music. I don’t want to treat people as though they are stupid but 120,000 people is a lot of people! This capacity puts the festival on a size only a little bit smaller than Glastonbury.

I’m not sure who the organisers are but i would presume that they already have festival experience as well as lots of experience in organising such a large event! To have such a large capacity for the first event, they would have to have the most amazing line-up ever. As the market is saturated its getting harder and harder to sell out a festival. My question to them would be, what are they going to bring i can’t get closer to home? Essex is a long way from home for a lot of people!

Let me tell you! This summer Kings Of Leon will play in Hyde park for a summer gig. The show will take place  on Wednesday 30th June 2010
and it is set to be their biggest show ever.
